Jerome is located in Sangamon County, Illinois. It is surrounded
by the city of Springfield, the state capital. Jerome is positioned
on the west side of Springfield and shares a common boundary
on the east and south sides. Also, on the north side, Jerome
shares a common boundary with the Village of Leland Grove. The
Village Street Department maintains the streets in the corporate
limits and provides snow removal with it's two snowplows. The
Village buys its water from the City of Springfield, but maintains
its own distribution system for various parts of the Village.
