Electronic Waste - New State Law
A reminder from our refuse hauler, that electronic waste will no longer be hauled. This information is posted on our website for residents, but it also pertains to anyone disposing of electronic waste.
Under a new State law, effective January 1, 2012, electronic waste (e-waste) must be recycled by a registered collector, recycler and/or manufacturer. E-waste includes computers and monitors; printers and scanners; laptops; keyboards; fax machines; video and game consoles; TV's; cable and satellite receivers; DVD players and small scale servers. Failure to do so could result in being fined by the state!
Do not bring your electronics to the Village as we will not recycle your stuff for you.
Download and read the attached flyer from the Illinois EPA
