The
Water Department was created by the Village Board in July
of 1939 and the water mains were installed by WPA workers.
The Village has 603 water customers and after a recent annexation,
155 customers receive their water from Springfield's utility,
City, Water, Light and Power.
The
water usage bills go out on the fifth day of the month
and
are due on the seventeenth day of the month. If you are
two months delinquent on your water bill, the meter will
be turned off and there will be a $50.00 fee accessed
to
turn it back on. There is a $25.00 charge for bad checks
and if we receive two in one year, then the water bill
will
be required to be paid in cash only.
