Village of Jerome Department of Public Safety
The Village’s Department of Public Safety primarily consists of the Jerome Police Department, located at 1610 Reed Avenue.
The Police Department has four full-time officers and operates under the guidance of the Public Safety Trustee. The department provides coverage for the entire village and is accessible for both emergency and non-emergency situations through the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Radio Communications Center.

If you’re planning to be away for a day or longer, the Police Department offers home checks and extra patrols. To take advantage of this service:
- Fill out a request form at the Village Office to register your home on the house checklist.
- Police officers will check your home several times a day to ensure it is safe and secure while you’re away.
