As we enter Spring, it is a good time to revisit your preparedness for severe storms and tornadoes. Here are some tips to help you out:
- Make sure you have multiple ways to receive severe storm warnings including cellular phone alerts, NOAA weather radio, TV, radio, and the Sangamon County Alert system.
- Outdoor warning sirens are not meant for alerting inside your home.
- Identify your safe place for storms.
- Create an emergency preparedness kit with water, food, a first aid kit, batteries, flashlights, and a battery-powered radio
