Street Repairs

Important Information Regarding Street Repairs.

Starting September 21,2023 (weather dependent) the Village of Jerome will be conducting Street Repair Projects throughout the Village.

Crews will be working on multiple areas on the following streets.

Welch St., Homewood Ave., W. Glenn Ave.

Leonard St., Fillmore Ave., Homewood Ct.

And Lincoln Ave.

NO VEHICLES TO BE PARKED ON OR ALONG STREET.

VIOLATORS WILL BE TOWED AT OWNERS EXPENSE

No Parking Signs will be posted in those areas.

Final Limb Pick up for 2023

October 2-6, 2023, Public Works will begin limb pickup. This will be the final limb pickup for 2023. Please do not put any brush or limbs out after October 6, 2023. All limb piles must be placed along the street edge BEFORE 7:00am the morning of September 25, 2023. Any piles placed after 7:00am on the October 2nd WILL NOT be picked up. Piles must not be placed out any earlier than 1 WEEK prior to pick up dates. (per Ordinance) Size of pile restrictions are still in place per Ordinance. Any piles larger than 6ft wide x 4ft tall x 8ft long are considered oversize and will require a $75.00 fee to be paid before pickup will occur. Residents who either have “Oversized” piles, or were late setting piles out will be notified via a letter stating why their pile was not removed, and any fees owed, and where to pay fees. Limb removal and Pick up

The Village will start picking up limbs on October 2 through October 6, 2023.

Boil Order Lifted

The Precautionary Boil order for the Village of Jerome is lifted as of today Saturday, January 14, 2023.

All water is safe to drink and cook with. Samples that were sent to the ILLINOIS EPA have come back clear.

The Precautionary Boil order was a safe guard due to pressures dropping below 20 psi. No further action is required.
All entities required by law will be notified of the lifting of the Precautionary Boil order per Public Works Supervisor Dave Wilken.

Emergency Water Valve Repair

An emergency water main valve repair is needed. It will begin at 8 AM Thursday, January 12th, 2023. The valve is located on Fillmore and Vernon Ave.

Areas that will be affected include:

  • Fillmore St. from Reed Ave to Jerome Ave.
  • Vernon Ave from Leonard St. to Fillmore St.
  • Potentially Alberta Ln. may need to be shut down if not able to locate the valve at Fillmore St.

Roads closed will include Vernon Ave. before Fillmore and Fillmore from W. Grand CT. to Alberta Ln.

Water Main Break

We have been made aware of a water main break in the 1600 block of W Glenn. Due to the current temperatures and wind chills being very dangerous, work on repair will be delayed until tomorrow morning at 8am.
